The county of Pembrokeshire includes within it the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, a beautiful area established mainly because of its coastline. It’s also the only National Park in the United Kingdom recognised for its coastline. The park itself makes up for more than a third of the total area of Pembrokeshire county and includes the 190-mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the Preseli Hills to the north.
Historically, Pembrokeshire placed great importance on the likes of fishing and mining however nowadays, its industry is focused on agriculture (at a whopping 86 per cent of land use), gas and oil and tourism. Geographically, Pembrokeshire offers a wealth of variety including everything from sandy beaches and rocky cliffs to moorland and lush wooded areas. Better still is that whether visiting the coast or inland you’ll find plenty of stunning rock types and structural features giving Pembrokeshire its character. In terms of Pembrokeshire’s pre-literary history, the county has been studied thoroughly from tribal periods through Roman and beyond.
As for its residents, the county of Pembrokeshire has a population of roughly 125,000 making it a far less concentrated location than the likes of more southern cities such as Cardiff and Swansea. For historical reasons, you’ll find more locals speaking Welsh in the north of the county compared with the south.
The 190 miles of coastline has been rated by experts over at National Geographic magazine as the second-best coastline in the whole world and with the number of stunning beaches and places to visit it’s not hard to see why. With jaw-dropping coastlines on three sides of the county you’ll come across a wide range of exciting locations.
When it comes to towns and villages, the walled seaside town of Tenby or village of Saundersfoot are popular holiday destinations offering plenty of places to sit back and enjoy a coffee or bite to eat with picturesque views of the shoreline in the background. Movie fans will be pleased to know that Pembrokeshire has played host to a number of big Hollywood blockbusters. Freshwater West is an exposed beach where the filming of Harry Potter and the Death Hallows took place as well as Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood. Surfers from all over visit to ride the beach’s waves with the Welsh National Surfing Championships even being held here.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is a beautiful meandering trail that passes coves and harbours, well over 50 different beaches and through a variety of lively villages and towns. The journey will also take you through St Davids, the smallest city in Britain. Named after the patron saint of Wales, the history of St Davids goes back to the 5th century and currently has a population at a little over 1,600 people.
History buffs will enjoy Preseli Hills where the stones used to build Stonehenge were quarried from while thrill seekers will want to check out Oakwood Theme Park for its rollercoasters and rides. Pembrokeshire is an explorer’s paradise whether you want the experience of coasteering around somewhere like St Davids or something a little more relaxed like the miles of paths along the coast.

How to find us
Great service from this local company. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so helpful with advice over the phone to even popping around! So pleased to have bought our tub from them
Excellent service. When I rang them to explain my hot tub needed a good clean they not only told me they had a deal on they also had someone round to my house the very next morning.
Excellent service, very helpful consultation and delivery and installation went without a hitch (unusual for us, there’s normally issues with anything we do!). Had it a few days and so far so good, love the experience.
